Iranian FM denounces US, Israel’s “military aggression” against Iran
(MENAFN) Iranian Foreign Minister Seyed Abbas Araghchi spoke by phone with European Union foreign policy chief Kaja Kallas on Tuesday, during which he denounced what he called "military aggression" by Israel and the United States against Iran, according to a statement from Iran’s Foreign Ministry.
During the conversation, Araghchi asserted that the Iranian people have firmly defended their nation’s territorial integrity and sovereignty against the Israeli-U.S. "aggression," which he said has significantly damaged diplomatic efforts, the Non-Proliferation Treaty, and UN Security Council Resolution 2231, which supports the 2015 Iran nuclear agreement.
He also criticized certain European countries and the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) Director General Rafael Grossi for their stances, particularly concerning the recent passage of an anti-Iran resolution by the IAEA Board of Governors.
Araghchi warned that if this "destructive" attitude persists among some European nations, it would further worsen the situation and hinder diplomatic efforts aimed at reducing tensions.
In response, Kallas emphasized that there is no evidence to suggest Iran’s nuclear program is being developed for the purpose of creating nuclear weapons.
