Media Reveals Nearly Half of Americans Against U.S. Airstrikes on Iran
Conducted through text messaging on Wednesday, the survey gathered responses from over 1,000 participants. It revealed that 45% are against military action, 25% back it, and 30% remain undecided.
This poll emerges amid escalating turmoil in the Middle East as the US deliberates its course of action in response to the Iran-Israel conflict.
The findings highlight notable public reluctance toward escalating military engagement, with a 20-point gap between those opposing and those endorsing airstrikes.
Among Democrats, opposition is particularly strong, with two-thirds expressing resistance to any military intervention, reflecting a pronounced anti-war stance within the party.
On the other hand, 47% of Republicans indicated support for strikes, compared to 24% against and 29% undecided.
Within the subgroup of Trump voters, 46% favor airstrikes on Iran, while 26% oppose them and 28% remain uncertain.
Regarding Iran’s nuclear ambitions, about 20% of Americans see it as an “immediate and serious threat” to the US, nearly half consider it “somewhat serious,” and one-third view it as less of a danger.
Concern about a potential full-scale war with Iran is high, with roughly 40% “very concerned” and a similar portion “somewhat concerned” about US involvement.
